BYM
This section provides information about the Quaker body which represents the interests of the
thirty thousand Members and Attenders in the Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends
in Britain.

The title derives from the annual assembly which is "the final constitutional authority" of Quakers
from All over the country. Details of the last and the next of these meetings can be found at
Yearly Meeting.

Between the annual sessions of Yearly Meeting the general care of Yearly Meeting's centrally
managed work is in the hands of a standing representative body (of the 73 regional Monthly
Meetings), for more details go to Meeting for Sufferings.

Through the year Meeting for Sufferings manages a substantial programme of Quaker work at
home and abroad. For more information go to Quaker Work. Journalists and other enquirers
wanting to know more about Quakers' public witness in Britain go to Press Contacts.

For an overview of the finances of the Yearly Meeting and details of how to get the full Financial
Report and Audited Accounts go to Summary Accounts.

The central nominations committees find Friends and Attenders for appointment to Quaker
committees who can make a contribution to the central work of Britain Yearly Meeting. To find out
more go to Nominations.

Like most other Quaker Yearly Meetings around the world, BYM publishes a range of literature
ranging from a compilation of commentary on current Quaker attitudes to a guidebook to the
organisation. BYM decides to review its "Book of Christian discipline" about every twenty years.
For more information go to  Quaker faith & practice online.

The central offices are based at Friends House, 173 Euston Road, London NW1 2BJ. Phone 020
